Registration Patented Technologies to SDGs-Support Database of U.N.
Orbray has listed 19 patented technologies related to the fields of greenhouse gas reduction and clean energy development as well as solutions to aging and shrinking workforce.
In 2013, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the U.N. agency, launched a platform that connects providers and seekers of environmentally-friendly technologies. The database of the platform dubbed as WIPO GREEN carries more than 120,000 technologies and demands from users worldwide as of January 2022. WIPO GREEN helps to promote innovations of environmentally-friendly technologies through global collaborations and business matchings and accelerate transfers and diffusions of such technologies.
Orbray manufactures a large number of products in four fields: the development of industrial jewel material such as diamond and sapphire, optical communication parts, small-sized motors and medical equipment. The company processes industrial jewels in integrated productions that feature “cutting, grinding and polishing” and uses them as bases to make the other main products. It has registered some of its patented technologies to WIPO GREEN. Orbray is making efforts to create new values and advance products which can contribute to achieve SDGs by cooperating with customers and joint development partners
SDGs refer to a set of 17 global goals to achieve a sustainable and better world during a period from 2016 and 2030. The objectives were endorsed by the United Nations and its 193 member countries.
This time, Orbray focused on two of the goals-the 7th and the 9th of the SDGs - and registered the 19 patented technologies.
Goal 7: to ensure access to affordable, reliable and sustainable and modern energy for all – reducing greenhouse gas emission, manufacturing parts to contribute to create clean energy, energy-saving activities
Goal 9: to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation – providing solutions to aging and shrinking workforce
