Speech from our President & CEO, Riyako Namiki

I am deeply honored and grateful to receive this prestigious award.

Our company’s strength lies in our advanced precision processing technologies, including the development, processing, and mass production of the world’s largest synthetic diamond substrates. Leveraging our technology, we are taking on challenges in cutting-edge fields that will support the future, such as quantum computing, medical applications, communication satellites, and next-generation semiconductors. With the mission of "shining a light on the Tohoku region and leading Japan’s manufacturing industry," we continue to pursue excellence, from Tohoku to the world, and even to outer space.

Our company has a history of 85 years, and expanded to Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture, in 1967. In 2021, I assumed the role of president as the third-generation leader of the founding family. While preserving our traditions, I have also been driving new initiatives.

I believe that the reason we have been able to achieve superb results is the "snow country spirit" deeply rooted in the Tohoku region—a spirit characterized by steady, diligent, and sincere efforts. The perseverance and integrity cultivated in this harsh natural environment have fostered our technological capabilities and contributed to our development today. I am deeply grateful for the support we have received from this culture and the spirit of this land.

Since our founding, we have cherished the value of "One Company, One Family." This phrase reflects our commitment to treating each employee like family and growing together. Since becoming president in 2021, I have created a more supportive environment for our employees, conducting individual interviews with over 1,000 employees and advancing management reforms that prioritize communication. Additionally, we have focused on promoting women’s participation in the workforce and creating an environment where young people can work locally, aiming to grow as a company alongside the regional community.

Looking ahead, we plan to relocate our headquarters to Yuzawa City and construct a new headquarters building by 2026, followed by the construction of a new factory in 2027. By 2029, we aim for an IPO. With a sales target of 40 billion yen, we are committed to achieving further growth together with our employees.

In closing, I would like to once again express my heartfelt gratitude for receiving this wonderful award. Inspired by this recognition, we will continue to pave the way for the future of Tohoku and remain a pillar of support for Japan’s manufacturing industry. Thank you very much for this honor today.
